Gooney
Updated October 28, 2026
Gooney can send anonymous play data to help balance the game, but only if you say yes. It's off until you agree, you can turn it off any time in Options → Play data, and it never includes your name, your Steam account, or anything else that identifies you.
Only while Play data is on (the question at first launch, or Options). For each level or match you play:
With each play session: a random install ID made by the game on your PC (not tied to you or your Steam account), a random session ID, the session's start time, the game version, and your operating system's name, such as "Windows".
To balance the game: to see which levels are really hard, to tune the computer opponent, and to balance the hat abilities. It's used for nothing else. It's never sold, shared for advertising, or used to track you.
The game sends it over an encrypted connection to storage run by Cloudflare, in North America. Like any web service, Cloudflare sees your IP address while it delivers the upload, but Gooney's server doesn't keep it. The developer downloads the data to analyze it.
Uploaded data is deleted from storage automatically after 90 days. Copies the developer has downloaded are kept as long as they're useful for balancing the game.
%APPDATA%\Godot\app_userdata\Gooney 1v1\telemetry and
deletes it there once it has been sent. You can delete that folder at any time.Gooney runs on Steam. Valve handles your Steam account, purchases and online matchmaking under Valve's privacy policy. Gooney's play data never includes your Steam account.
If what's collected ever changes, this page is updated first and its date changes. Collecting anything new would only happen after you agree again in the game.
